I am the co-founder and CEO of the Flexxon Group with my business partner, May Chng. Today, we lead two purpose-driven companies: Flexxon, which specialises in industrial NAND Flash storage, and X-PHY, the Group’s hardware-based cybersecurity arm.
Since co-founding Flexxon in 2007, the business has grown into an international operation with a presence in over 50 cities worldwide, serving industries where data integrity and device reliability are non-negotiable.
In 2021, we launched X-PHY to address a critical gap in the cybersecurity landscape — protecting data at the physical layer through intelligent, proactive security embedded directly in storage devices. This approach moves defence closer to where the data actually lives, rather than relying solely on software-based perimeter solutions.

The Flexxon Group
Industrial NAND Flash Storage
Flexxon is the industrial storage arm of the Group, specialising in NAND Flash solutions engineered for demanding, mission-critical environments. With a focus on long life-cycle and fixed BOM solutions, Flexxon delivers the reliability that sectors such as defence, healthcare, automotive, and industrial IoT require.
Hardware-Based Cybersecurity
X-PHY is the Group’s cybersecurity arm, pioneering a Security by Design philosophy that embeds intelligent threat detection and response directly into storage hardware. By operating at the physical layer, X-PHY provides a last line of defence that software-only solutions cannot replicate.

Each innovation below addresses a specific, real-world challenge — and each moves the line of defence closer to where data actually resides.
X-PHY® Cyber Secure SSD
A solid-state drive with artificial intelligence embedded directly in the storage firmware, designed to detect and respond to threats at the physical layer — in real time. Unlike traditional cybersecurity solutions that operate above the operating system, the X-PHY SSD monitors data access patterns at the hardware level and can lock down autonomously when anomalous behaviour is detected.
